Welcome to another year of curling in the Thursday Open League at the VCC.

Curling Dates: We have 27 weeks of curling again this year starting on Thursday September 16, 2021 and concluding on April 7, 2022.

For your planning, here are the dates, month by month:

Social Evenings: We will have two social evenings (pizza and whatnot). The first is December 16th and the other is April 7th. These social events are included in your League fees.

League Format: We have been fortunate to once again have twenty-seven weeks of curling available to our league. With thirty-six teams, this allows for four nine-team divisions (A, B, C, D) in three blocks of curling. During each nine-week block, teams will play in a round-robin format. Teams will be re-seeded prior to round two and three. Reseeding will see the top three teams in B, C, & D move up a division, and the bottom three teams in A, B & C move down a division. The third block of curling will effectively be our nine-week playoff. At the conclusion of the third block, division winners will be announced. Teams will again be reseeded prior to the start of the next curling season.

Fees: The league fee for each team is set at $1,220.00 for 2021/22.

What your fees cover: • Ice rental • Social evenings • Prizes • Administration fees including VCC Thursday Open website, bank account charges, misc. supplies etc.

In addition to league fees, each VCC member pays a VCC Membership fee of $42.00 (incl. GST) in one league and there will be a one time Covid reopening fee of $31.50 (incl. GST). Ie. If you play in three leagues, you pay the VCC Membership fee in your primary league only.

Payment: Each team supplies one cheque payable to the “VCC Thursday Open League”.
